Chris Wraith has been involved in the Access Industry since 1988, initially as a self-employed contract haulier, delivering and operating mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs). He joined UK rental company Nationwide Access in the mid-1990s, becoming an IPAF Senior Instructor and achieving a first class honours degree in Safety & Environmental Management at Hull University.
Following a number of years as UK Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental manager for Lavendon, Europe’s largest dedicated MEWP rental company, he joined the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) as Technical and Safety Executive. In this role, Chris was actively involved with national and international standards committees, manufacturers, enforcement authorities, rental companies and contractors to promote the safe and effective use of powered access worldwide.
In 2017, Chris became an independent consultant, trading as ACCESS SAFETY MANAGEMENT LTD.
Chris is a lead auditor and a Chartered member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH), who regularly has articles published in industry magazines and journals.
He is a well respected and popular speaker on safety and MEWP related topics at events worldwide, where his passion and drive is clear for all to see.
